Enthiran countdown begins: The most awaited film of the year “Enthiran” is slated to hit theatres on 1st October, 2010 ( tomorrow ).

The Hindi rights of the film ‘Enthiran’ was reportedly sold out for a record price of Rs.50Crores to Gemini Film Circuit. Instead of releasing the film directly, it has opted for a smarter way. According to the sources, Shringar Films have owned the rights for Bombay Territory while the most famous Mukta Arts in Delhi-UP and Eastern Punjab as well. Red Sun Enterprises, Venkatesh Films and few others have obtained rights over other regions of Hindi-territories.

Without a doubt, Enthiran has turned out to be the biggest release of Superstar Rajnikanth throughout his career. Produced at a cost of Rs.125Crores, Sun Pictures are reported of having filled with pockets with big profits already. According to the trade reports, the film has been sold out for Rs. 205Crores.

With a week left for the film’s opening, the booking plans opened up last evening across Tamil Nadu. Just as expected, the tickets for the first week (approximately 125 per day in Chennai alone) were sold out within an hour. The distributors and theatre exhibitors are sure-footed of spinning profits by the first week itself.

In Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu and Kannada releases have been postponed from last week of September to second week of October due to the grand release of “Enthiran’. It’s worth mentioning that Rajnikanth’s films in Telugu and Hindi have been successful. It is worthy recollecting a Superstar’s Telugu film crossed 150 days in theatres of Andhra Pradesh though it was a cameo role, in which he appeared for just couple of scenes.

Hansraj Saxena, COO of Sun Pictures, has mentioned that the film has more star values, which have raised everyone’s expectations. With Superstar Rajnikanth himself happening to the biggest brand, the film has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, academy award winner A.R. Rahman, director Shankar (all his films have at least crossed 150 days in theatres), academy award winner Resul Pookutty, Hollywood’s top-charting technicians have worked on special effects.

மணிரத்னத்தின் ராவண் படத்துக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய் நடித்து வருவதால் ரஜினியின் எந்திரன் படம் வெளியாவதில் பெரும் தாமதம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது..

இந்தியாவில் இதுவரை வெளியான படங்களிலேயே பெரும் பட்ஜெட்டில் தயாராகும் எந்திரன் படப்பிடிப்பு 2008-ம் ஆண்டு துவங்கியது. ஆனால் இன்னும் பல்வேறு காரணங்களால் தாமதமாகிவருகிறது. 2007-ல் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டாலும், இந்தப் படத்தின் ஷூட்டிங் 2008-ல்தான் ஆரம்பித்தது. காரணம் ஐஸ்வர்யா ராயின் கால்ஷீட். அதற்காக பல மாதங்கள் காத்திருந்தனர்.

இரு பாடல் காட்சிகள் வெளிநாடுகளில் படமாக்கப்பட்ட பிறகு, மீண்டும் ராவணன் படத்துக்குப் போய்விட்டார் ஐஸ். அவர் இடம்பெறாத முக்கியமான காட்சிகளை இந்தியாவின் முக்கிய நகரங்களில் எடுத்தனர்.

ராவண் படம் பிரச்சினைக்குள்ளான நேரத்தில் அந்தக் கால்ஷீட்டை எந்திரனுக்கு ஒதுக்கினார். இத்தனைக்கும் இந்தியாவிலேயே இதுவரை எந்த ஹீரோயினும் வாங்காத சம்பளமாக ரூ 6 கோடியை அள்ளிக் கொடுத்துள்ளனர் இந்தப் படத்துக்காக ஐஸ்வர்யாராய்க்கு.

இன்னும் ஒரு பாடல் காட்சி மற்றும் ரஜினி -ஐஸ் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட சில காட்சிகள் எடுக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது.

ஜூலையில் எந்திரன் படம் ரிலீசாகும் என ரஜினி கூறினார். ஆனால் ஐஸ்வர்யாவின் திடீர் கால்ஷீட் குளறுபடியால் திட்டமிட்டபடி படம் வருமா என்பது சந்தேகத்துக்கிடமாகியுள்ளது.

இந்த முறையும் மணிரத்னத்தின் ராவண் படம்தான் காரணம். இப்போதைக்கு அவரும் ஷூட்டிங் முடிப்பதாகத் தெரியவில்லை. ரஞ்சிதா விவகாரம் வேறு அந்தப் படத்தை ஜவ்வாக இழுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

ஐஸ்வர்யாவுக்காக இப்போது எந்திரன் படக்குழுவினர் காத்துக் கொண்டுள்ளது. அவர் எப்போது கால்ஷீட் கொடுக்கிறாரோ அப்போதுதான் படப்பிடிப்பை துவங்க வேண்டிய நிலை.

இதற்கிடையே, ராவண் படப்பிடிப்பு முடிந்துவிட்டதாகவும், இனி எந்திரன் ஷூட்டிங்குக்கு வந்துவிடுவேன் என்றும் ஐஸ்வர்யா தெரிவித்துள்ளாராம்.

இன்னும் சில தினங்களில் படப்பிடிப்பு துவங்கும் என்கிறார்கள். இது இறுதிக் கட்டப் படப்பிடிப்பாம்.

என்திரனை 3 டியில் உருவாக்கத் திட்டமிட்டிருந்தார் ஷங்கர். இப்போது மிகவும் தாமதமாகிவிட்டதால் 3 டி உருவாக்கம் சாத்தியமா என்பது தெரியவில்லை. படம் ஜூலையில் வெளியாகுமா அல்லது தீபாவளி வெளியீடா என்பதிலும் குழப்பம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.

ரஜினியின் எந்திரன் படப்பிடிப்பை டெல்லியில் நடத்த முயன்றபோது, டெல்லி மாநில அரசு அனுமதி மறுத்துவிட்டது.

தீவிரவாதிகள் தாக்குதல் ஆபத்து இருப்பதால் படப்பிடிப்புக்கு அனுமதி தரமுடியாது என அரசுத் தரப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டதால், சம்பந்தப்பட்ட காட்சிகளை சென்னை ராகவேந்திரா மண்டபத்திலேயே எடுத்து வருகிறார் இயக்குநர் ஷங்கர்.

ரஜினி, ஐஸ்வர்யாராய் ஜோடியாக நடிக்கும் எந்திரன் படப்பிடிப்பு கிட்டத்தட்ட முடிந்துவிட்டாலும், பேட்ச் அப் காட்சிகளாக சிலவற்றை எடுக்க விரும்பினார் ஷங்கர்.

இதற்கான படப்பிடிப்பை டெல்லியில் நடத்த முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. அதற்கான இடமும் அங்கு தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டது.

படப்பிடிப்புக்கு போலீஸ் அனுமதி கேட்டனர். மனுவை ஆய்வு செய்த டெல்லி போலீசார் அனுமதி மறுத்து விட்டனர். தீவிரவாதிகள் அச்சுறுத்தல் இருப்பதால் படப்பிடிப்பில் அசம்பாவிதங்கள் ஏற்படுவதை தவிர்க்க தடை போட்டதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. டெல்லிக்கு பயணமாக தயாராக இருந்த ரஜினி , ஐஸ்வர்யாராய்க்கு கடைசி நேரத்தில் தகவல் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. பயணத்தை ரத்து செய்து விட்டனர். இதனை ரஜினியே முன்பு முதல்வருக்கு நடந்த பாராட்டு விழாவில் தெரிவித்தது நினைவிருக்கலாம்.

டெல்லிக்கு பதில் வேறு எங்கு படப்பிடிப்பை நடத்தலாம் என்று ஆலோசித்த ஷங்கர், சென்னையில் ரஜினிக்கு சொந்தமான ராகவேந்திரா மண்டபத்திலேயே சம்பந்தப்பட்ட காட்சியை நேற்று படமாக்கினார்.

ஐஸ்வர்யா ராயை தூக்கிப் போய் ரஜினி தாலி கட்டுவது போலவும், போலீசார் ரஜினியை கைது செய்வது போலவும் காட்சிகள் படமாக்கப்பட்டன. படப்பிடிப்பைக் காண ஏராளமானோர் கூடிவிட்டனர்.

Everyone is eager to know about Aish’s experiences of acting with Rajini. Talking to a private TV channel, the former world beauty was all praises for Rajini.

“It was great working with Rajinikanth, who is a brilliant actor. The only tough thing about the movie was studying Tamil again in order to pronounce the words properly”, she said.

“Rajini is a family friend. We all have a great deal of respect for him. His simplicity when shooting for ‘Endhiran’ has me in awe. It is difficult to find a modest person like Rajini in this ostentatious film world. He does not put on the airs of a super star and moves freely with everyone. He seems an amazing man to me,” gushed Aishwarya Rai.

Aishwarya Rai Tribal look in Rajnikanth starrer Endhiran. Her make-up artist in the movie is Ojas Rajani.

He says,”I am working with Aishwarya on Action Replay and Enthiran. Even though Enthiran is my first film with Ash, I have known her for about eight years. I have done her make-up for her ads.

She has a fantastic face. She’s very professional and allows you to do anything with her face. She’s very open. She is one of the few actresses who has an international as well as an Indian look. She’s like a princess — she looks stunning even in minimum make-up. She knows how to carry herself well.

She is blessed with beautiful coloured eyes, eyebrows and a great pout — they look simple yet glamourous.

We have tried 57 costumes and different looks for her in Enthiran. Her tribal look is very glamourous. She has to look like a Mexican tribal. Manish Malhotra has styled the film and done an awesome job.”

Enthiran, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai, is being filmed at a hectic pace. Director Shankar has been working hard and hopes to complete the film by end of this year. It is believed that Shankar had not slept for several days during shooting schedules, as he wanted to make sure that everything comes out perfectly.

But one thing that everyone is happy about is that Aishwarya Rai has picked up Tamil very quickly and is now fluent with the language. Apparently, Rajni was truly impressed and said that he had never seen anyone from North India speak in Tamil so well! Well, regional films are not a problem at all for Aishwarya Rai, as she has even done a Bengali film earlier. Way to go Aishwarya! Tamil indeed is a beautiful language that can be picked up easily!

Interesting snippet for the fans of Superstar Rajnikanth on his forthcoming movie Endiran. While the mega movie remains a closed book, as the makers are keeping the production a guarded secret, interesting incidences connected with the movie do keep the fans thrilled.

Endiran somehow seems to be having links with Vellore and it may be recalled that some sequences of this Rajnikanth-Aishwarya starrer were shot in the picturesque campus of the VIT University here in January this year. Now a stunt artist from here has worked for the movie recently to coach the heroine in martial arts.

‘It was a memorable experience’ recalled ‘Karate’ Ramesh, who runs Japan Shito-Ryu karate school here for over 30 years, which is affiliated to the World Karate Federation.

He said that a couple of weeks back he had received a phone call from Peter Hein, the stunt master for Endiran, offering him to coach for Aishwarya Rai, the basics of karate.

‘I readily agreed because it is a lifetime offer to work in the mega movie’ Ramesh noted. In the movie, the heroine learns karate from the hero. ‘While the hero Rajnikanth already knows these steps, I had to coach the heroine and her friends’ Ramesh claimed.

In addition, Ramesh also appears in the climax fight scene as a Black Cat commando member. According to him Aishwarya was a quick learner and without much rehearsal she was able to repeat the karate movements.

He has already acted for a Manirathnam movie Iruvar (1997) in which Aishwarya was the heroine, where he duped for Mohanlal in some fight sequences.

‘I used to watch Aishwarya Rai from a distance in that movie. But now I had the opportunity to coach her for Endiran’ Ramesh added showing a photograph he has taken with her after the shooting.

Interestingly Ramesh claimed that he is the only qualified karate champion and a master in the art among the 600 plus stunt artists at the Kollywood’s tinsel industry and the natural choice was to get him booked for Endiran.

He had taken 200 of his ‘black-belt’ students from his school to take part in a fight sequence for the Madhavan starrer Arya last year.

Ramesh began his career as a cine artist when he made a debut as a hero in a Tamil movie Neerupootha Neruppu which turned out to be a flop, following which he took up a career as a stunt artist.

So far he has acted in over 400 movies made in South India since 1986 with almost all the leading heroes of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

85% of Endhiran is complete

Speaking Sunday at the audio release of “Eeram”, produced by Shankar’s ‘S’ Pictures and directed by newcomer Arivazagan, Rajnikanth said: “Shankar is an example of hard work, coupled with smartness and efficiency.”

Rajnikanth, after the success of “Sivaji – The Boss”, has teamed up with Shankar for “Endhiran”, which also stars Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai.

“Eighty-five percent shooting of ‘Endhiran’ is complete. Working with Shankar in ‘Sivaji – The Boss’ as well as ‘Endhiran’ was a delight. I have discovered a close friend in him,” said the actor.
