Endhiran’s place in World Top 50

The Endhiran is not tiring yet. With records being broken on a regular basis right from the date of its announcement, the latest news may not be surprise at all. Endhiran finds itself among the Best 50 feature films released in 2010 in the Internet movie database (www.imdb.com). The list is based on the number of user votes for the movie. Seven Indian films feature in the Top 50 with others follow suit.

The rating, which is lead by Hollywood blockbuster Inception, has Bollywood movies Udaan (6), Love Sex aur Dhoka (15), Peepli Live (17) and Ishqiya (22) while Endhiran occupies the 39th place. Farhan Akhtar-starrer Karthik calling Karthik and Hrithik-starrer Guzaarish are at numbers 48 and 41 respectively. Interestingly, Endhiran is the only Tamil movie in the Top 50.

1. Who is Isaac Asimov mentioned in the movie?
Isaac Asimov is the father of robotics who created three laws for the robotics. All the robots which are created should follow his rules. All the three laws have the basic concept that robot should not harm the human beings.

2. How come Chitti suddenly uses staking rollers in foot in railway tracks?
In the robotic conference scene, Vaseegaran said that Chitti, the robot has an inbuilt vehicle. So he uses the inbuilt vehicle on a track.

3. How it is possible to program all the words in a language to robot?
Yes, It is not possible to program all the words in a language to robot. In the scene when Chitti was driving Vaseegaran to the park he does not put the break, Auto driver comes and say “Savugraki”. Chitti suddenly utters “New word Savugraki”. So Chitti also does not know some words in the language.

4. Your answer to Q3 you are saying new word will not be used by Chitti, but when Aishwarya is saying I wasted the time and I don’t know what to do for tomorrow’s exam. Chitti using the word “Zigbee” showing with victory symbol?
Hi “Zigbee: is a word. Zigbee is the protocol for USB3.0 transmitter which is used for the high tech bit in the exam in the film.

5. How Chitti charges himself in the train scene and comes to save Aishwariya?
Because at that time he has no feelings.

Your question should be answered in two ways.

Robot is programmed in such a way that it should automatically charge during low battery time. It is explained in the train scene, as soon as he gets down with the low battery he falls down searching for a plug point….and that’s why he catches a rowdy’s xyz part and he falls…..as soon as he was thrown out of the train….he picks up the current box and charges himself…..even in boom boom song….Shankar has showed a scene that robot charges himself.

In the second way, if you watch the previous scene carefully while Ash caught on copying, and she will say CHITTI as mental. But Chitti will say at that time “Incomplete task”. So he will go to the roof and use vision technology for copying.

In the same method the task was incomplete for Chitti when he fell down from the train so he charged up himself with the battery to save Aishwarya Rai.

6. Titanium can withhold 1000 degrees but when its got heated its temperature will increase to 600 degrees so when Chitti is holding the girl and infant with his hand probably she will die? Explain this logic.
When Chitti is running to save the people from fire, coolant valves activated message will appear. Probably this will rapidly cool the titanium. These kind of messages are used so brilliantly throughout the film. For example, after the robot seminar, when bunch of girls ask for photo, when they take photo with Chitti, when the flash comes, Chitti display shows ‘vision blur’ and that method was used in climax fight also.

7. How does Chitti say the blood group of Dr.Vasi just in a sight while he sees the drop in the floor?
Chitti has inbuilt blood scanner and during checking the blood group, Chitti message will show as analyzing DNA.

8. Is talking to mosquito a silly scene?
Some people claim that talking with mosquito is a silly scene. But languages and tones will have different frequencies. So when he is speaking with mosquitoes the change in frequency message will appear. (This is also excellent thinking by writer Sujatha who will explain global recession in a single word to the common man. He just wants to explain to the common man what Robot can do.) Also the scene makes people and children aware of the water borne diseases spread by mosquitoes. Now you tell… Is that a silly scene?

9. Whether this is copy of any Hollywood film?
Oliver Stone, the winner of 3 Oscar awards for direction said to the reporters it is the best Indian film he had seen with such originality.

10. Is there anything special about Resool Pookutty’s sound editing?
Yes. In all the scenes Chitty is moving hands, walking and any movement machine sound will appear all the time. (like kirk Kirk).

Yeah we know, Chitty, the Robo can speak any language but what is news is ‘Enthiran’ will be dubbed in English!
Not just being dubbed in English, Enthiran’s Indian versions – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi along with the new English version will have added 3D Video footage! After being the talk of the mouth in almost every part of the world, the producers Sun Pictures, are contemplating to cashing on the rage by dubbing the movie in English and also include 7 Minutes of 3D footage that was originally not included in the movie.

There were gossips that ‘Enthiran’ would have a few scenes made in 3D but camera man Rathnavel informed before the release of the movie that the 3D version wasn’t really a viable option as it was time consuming as well as a burden to few theatre owners because they would have to install 3D screens.

Well looks like the English version is sure to happen along with the 3D footage. Off late the 3D trend is on an upswing in Hollywood and Indian cinema is not behind! And Superstar Rajinikanth will have an increased fan base after the English release!

How much did Rajini get as salary for Enthiran?

During the audio launch function of “Enthiran” that was held in malaysia in the month of July producer Kalanithi maran made a startling revelation that superstar Rajinikanth did not get even a single rupee as salary and said he would do so after the release of the movie.

Since the production cost of the movie was very high which almost touched 160crores including the salaries of all crew who worked in the movie except Rajini.

But there was a talk in the industry that Rajini would get between 40 to 45 crores as salary and if that happened he might become the highest paid actor in asia.

Now the cat is out of the bag. According to a very reliable source, Sun pictures Managing director kalanithi maran and COO Hansraj Saxena handed over the cheque to Rajini at his residence as Enthiran Salary.

After the massive success of the movie when Sun pictures decided to pay him they seem to have called the actor and asked for an appointment to hand over the salary.

Rajini in response seem to have told them that they could come at any time that was convenient to them and asked them to pay the whole salary as cheque after TDS is deducted.

Just as a clue the source, who did not want him to be identified, gave us the TDS(Tax deducted at source) amount alone and avoided telling us the salary amount.

Want to guess? TDS amount alone was more than 10 crores of rupees and we leave the salary amount calculation to the visitors.

Enthiran : The Robot", the latest flick of superstar Rajinikanth made history in the USA with last weekend’s box office collection reaching $2 million, a record for a Tamil film.

Enthiran did this just in three days what the other movies collected for their entire run in the cinemas, this is much better than his previous big hit Sivaji, the boss.

The movie which was released worldwide on October 1 collected a whopping 95 crores($22.5 million) in the opening weekend in india alone which is by any parameter better than any of the big bollywood movies.

In the U.K. the movie was holding No. 9 position at the B.O. with $538,000 and in the United Arab Emirates it grossed $387,000.

Though there was a slow start for hindi version "Robot" it picked up well as saturday’s collection was bigger than friday and sunday was even bigger.

As we all know, Rajini was in Mumbai to promote his ‘Robot’ and he invited all his Bollywood friends to watch the extravagant movie. And upon his arrival at the Mumbai airport on Monday morning (Oct 4th), a few reporters of leading News channels quizzed him as the Superstar was rushing his way through them

One of the reporters even asked if a sequel to ‘Robot’ was being planned and only then the answer we all know came up, the superstar went on to say that he really didn’t know what Shankar had in mind but Rajni personally wanted a big break! Of course, he truly deserves it, as he was pretty busy with the shooting and promotion of ‘Enthiran’ besides taking care of his daughter’s wedding!

And before all the journalists thought of winding it up, an excited journo went on to ask the ‘Million Dollar Question’ – “Any plans to get in to politics?” and pat came the reply from the Superstar saying “No Comments”. Just to make sure if the answer was ‘No Plans’, the anxious journalist asked him the same question and even this time, with eyebrows raised the superstar with his characteristic laugh said “I said No Comments”!

Whoa, isn’t that heights of diplomacy? That answer – ‘No Comments’ is multidimensional! It’s got loads of meanings attached to it. And the last question a reporter asked was if the superstar had seen the opening ceremony of the Common Wealth Games? The Superstar told he saw the inauguration and he was really proud to see such a spectacular event.

The movie just got bigger at each stage — the songs, locations, computer graphics — and everything turned out amazingly well. We were simply pumping in money as demanded by the script. And ended up getting a product that’s of an unimaginably grand scale.”

On Mr Maran’s comment during the audio release that Rajini was yet to take his remuneration, the Sun COO said when the project was launched, the superstar said he would talk about salary only when the film got released. “He is modesty personified. Now it’s time for us to give back.”
On Sun’s plans, Mr Saxena said they would make big budget movies as well as quality films of smaller budgets next year. And as for talks that Sun was planning a Rajini-Jackie Chan flick — “It sounds nice; but whether we are doing a Jackie Chan film or not, I can vouch that we are well equipped with technical and financial expertise to come out with a Hollywood film.”

The tickets for the film Enthiran was sold within 10 minutes when the booking plans opened throughout North America. The theatres are full for a week’s time. So far no other Indian cinema has been booked so fast. In that way it is a record break says Sun Pictures. The Hindi rights of the film ‘Enthiran’ was reportedly sold out for a record price of Rs.50Crores to Gemini Film Circuit. Instead of releasing the film directly, it has opted for a smarter way. According to the sources, Shringar Films have owned the rights for Bombay Territory while the most famous Mukta Arts in Delhi-UP and Eastern Punjab as well. Red Sun Enterprises, Venkatesh Films and few others have obtained rights over other regions of Hindi-territories.

The multi-million dollar movie started its world promotion in Malaysia on July 31, reported Malaysian Nanban.

Rajnikanth fans seeking divine help for Enthiran success

The paper said that more than 100 hardcore fans, aged 14 to 60, many on their knees, climbed the steps of the Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Sholingur, about 120km from Chennai, reports the Star Online.

The fans took more than three hours to climb the 1,305 steps leading to the main temple and to perform special poojas for the success of the film.
